Tape B just dropped his yearly addition of Cartunes, Tape B/Cartunes Vol 3, an hour-long mix of his best remixes, old-school hits, and other artists’ tracks combined to make an epic mix suitable for car speakers everywhere.
Real name Kemal Berk Alkana, Tape B has taken the world by storm in 2023 and is an artist to continue to look out for in 2024. Originally from Turkey, Alkana moved to Florida and has garnered notoriety due to his unique style. Cartunes Vol 3 is a prime example of Alkana’s best work.
The mix begins with an unreleased Mac Miller “Loud” remix, setting the tone for how nostalgic and simultaneously unique the rest of the mix is going to be.
Changing pace consistently throughout the hour, each song seems to bring listeners back to their younger days of hip hop/rap showcasing a remix with Lumasi of “Man of the Year” by School Boy Q, a remix of “On My Level” by Wiz Khalifa, and so much more.
Alkana also makes sure to highlight his fellow bass music producers in the mix as well, including his take on Odd Mob and Omnom’s “Losing Control,” Hamdi’s heavy-hitting “Counting“, and even a “Bangarang” by Skrillex flip.
Performing his first Tape B curated event just this past month in Denver at the Ogden Theatre, the show and Cartunes Vol 3 have proven the wild success to come for Alkana.
Cartunes Vol 3 is just the beginning and will be performed live (with some surprises in between) on phase two of the Tape B Old School X New School tour.
