Taxi Fares Subject To Surcharges During EDC Las Vegas 2024

Traveling ravers beware: taxi rides to and from EDC Las Vegas next week will be subject to additional surcharges.

These surcharge rates will be active will be from Friday, May 17 to Monday, May 20. Fares for any drop-off at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is subject to a $40 surcharge, and any rides leaving the festival will see a 60$ surcharge added, regardless of destination.

These charges were officially approved by the Nevada Taxicab Authority last month. The move was made to “financially incentivize taxi drivers to work during EDC,” according to FOX5 Las Vegas.

Official text from the governing body reads, “Based on the experiences with the F1 Grand Prix, Super Bowl and March Madness, and discussions that the operators have had with taxi drivers at their respective companies, the operators proposed that the EDC Surcharge Fee should be $50 dollars.

Taxi meters will be automatically programmed to add the surcharged rave once drivers enter a specified area during the festival.
