Future-house, R&B-loving, nu-disco dance beat creator Stephen Fasano, better known by his stage name The Magician, has finally released the highly-anticipated Magic Mix Tape 100 to celebrate the past decade of the Magic Tape series. Magic Tape originally began ten years ago after Stephen Fasano split from electronic group Aeroplane, a duo that consisted of himself and fellow DJ Vito de Luca. As a segue into the solo-artist world, The Magician quickly took off on his own with major hits and multi-platinum remixes.
Magic Tape is a mixtape project that started as an outlet for the Belgian producer to showcase music by friends and colleagues. For this incredibly celebratory series, Mix Tape 100 features tracks from 14 different artists (many of whom are part of The Magician’s own label POTION Records). From Triple J to Pat Tok, Mix Tape 100 features an eclectic combination of sounds and styles from each artist. The mix kicks off with The Magician’s own recent hit ‘One Vibration’ featuring Sydney-based vocalist CLYPSO.
According to The Magician, “I wanted to strike hard with the 100th edition of the Magic Tape series by asking several artists to work on an exclusive track for this event…This album is the perfect representation of the Magic Tape’s project, mixing artists from all around the world, each with their different and quite specific sounds and styles. After 10 years of Magic tapes, I’m very proud to see this project come to life, celebrating 10 years of electronic music, and celebrating my career. #200, here we come!”
Mix Tape 100 is officially out this week, so head here to check it out now! Cheers to a decade of dance music by The Magician and to many decades more.
