Live Nation continues to make headway with its expansion to Brazil, having announced that 420,000 tickets have been sold for its inaugural edition of The Town Music and Art Festival in São Paulo.
The event has already broken records, selling 350,000 tickets in less than three hours, and is organized in collaboration with Rock World – the production company behind Rock in Rio – who have already partnered with Live Nation on Lollapalooza Brazil.
The festival will take place on September 2, 3, 7, 9, and 10 at the Interlagos race track and will be headlined by Bruno Mars, Foo Fighters, Post Malone, and Maroon 5.
Additional acts set to perform across six stages at The Town include Queens of the Stone Age, Demi Lovato, Wet Leg, The Chainsmokers, Bebe Rexha, H.E.R., and Kim Petras.
A statement from Rafael Lazarini—Live Nation’s Senior Vice President and Head of Business Development—said, “The overwhelming success of The Town’s ticket sales is a testament to the growing demand for unique live experiences in Brazil and Latin America and proves that São Paulo is indeed one of the top global music destinations, and Paulistas are some of the most passionate fans.”
The Town’s sky-high ticket sales have also come less than six months after Ticketmaster—the festival’s official ticketing partner—was launched in Brazil, initially focusing on smaller events to better prepare the platform for the Brazilian market.
Live Nation’s Brazil expansion will also include the construction of a new 20,000-seat arena in São Paulo’s Anhembi District.
Tickets for The Town and more information are available at the festival’s official website.
