The Wiggles Release EDM Remix Album

Just when you thought you’d never again hear the words “Fruit salad, yummy yummy,” The Wiggles are back with a new twist.

The beloved children’s music group, famed for capturing the hearts of parents—and the attention spans of their tiny tots—for over 30 years, has released its first-ever EDM remix album: The Wiggles Soundsystem: Rave of Innocence.

The album, described by the band as “a pulsating musical journey that’s part wild dancefloor party, part toddler tantrum tamer,” features 14 G-rated reworks of quintessential Wiggles tunes, including nostalgic favorites like “Hot Potato,” and “Fruit Salad,” plus new-age kid classics like “Baby Shark” and The Wiggles’ new original “Bouncing Balls.” 

“It’s so incredible seeing people in their 20s and 30s who grew up enjoying our music in a whole new fun way,” blue Wiggle Anthony Field said in a press release. “This remix album is sort of an extension of that. It’s [a] wild ride—DJ Dorothy is on fire!”

Remixed by Lenny Pearce of Australia’s Justice Crew and The Wiggles’ own DJ Dorothy Dinosaur, The Wiggles Soundsystem traverses a range of dance music subgenres, from pop-infused EDM to gritty house and techno, and even psytrance.

Pearce—also the twin brother of current purple Wiggle, John—has become an online sensation in his own right, shaping the next generation of ravers with EDM remixes of children’s songs. Pearce’s reworks of songs like “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” and “The Wheels On The Bus” have garnered more than 1.3 million fans on TikTok.

The Wiggles Soundsystem isn’t the first time the colorful sweater-clad band has reinvented itself for new audiences either. Their 2021 cover of Tame Impala’s “Elephantfor triple j’s Like a Version wowed Kevin Parker himself—enough to join The Wiggles on stage for a live concert performance.

In 2021, The Wiggles released ReWiggled, an album that covers hits from artists like Rihanna, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Queen and more. ReWiggled also features Wiggles songs covered by popular Australian artists such as Spacey Jane, Stella Donnelly and The Chats.
