Tiga Returns With ‘HOTLIFE,” His First LP In A Decade

Tiga

Tiga is back with HOTLIFE, his first solo album in 10 years.

Following his set on Coachella’s Quasar stage last weekend, the Montreal dance disruptor’s sixth studio LP arrives today via Turbo Recordings and Secret City Records after a decade since his last solo album, No Fantasy Required, dropped in 2016.

Spanning 12 tracks, including collaborations with Boys Noize, Fcukers, Matthew Dear, MRD, Paranoid London, and fellow Montreal talents Priori and Patrick Holland, HOTLIFE sees Tiga return to the hurtling electroclash sound with which he made his legendary name, following a 10-year battle with “Vibe Fog,” a self-diagnosed neurological condition the famously quizzical party-rocking DJ equates to being creatively, “lost in the wilderness,” he told DJ Mag.

“At a certain point, it was either buy the exoskeleton and cash out my Virgin Megastore stock, or rebuild Tiga City from the ground up, brick by brick, gargoyle by gargoyle,” Tiga said in a statement.

The result is a simultaneously heavenly and horrifying project, proving that even after a lengthy creative rut, the veteran artist still has the goods.
