Tinder Launches New Ultra-Exclusive Subscription Plan With $499 Price Tag

Maybe money can buy love? At least Tinder thinks so.

The app-based dating platform has just launched a new, ultra-exclusive subscription plan with a $499 monthly price tag.

In a move that appears to turn Tinder’s whole concept on its head, users who purchase the new Tinder Select subscription can message other users whom they haven’t matched with up to twice per week.

The new subscription tier will also help subscribers stand out among Tinder’s 75 million users, placing their profiles more frequently on more devices, especially those on the app’s “most sought-after” list.

Those willing to pay for the new subscription can do so without fear of judgment, as the plan also gives users the option to display or hide a Tinder Select badge on their profile.

Unlike previous subscription models, Tinder Select is invite-only and will only be offered to the app’s most active users. According to Bloomberg, this is less than 1 percent of its total pool.

After receiving an invitation, interested users must fill out an application and undergo a five-point screening process, including submitting a verified photo, biography, five interests, four images, and details about their intentions for using Tinder.

New subscribers must also show “relationship intent,” according to a report from Hypebeast.

The launch of Tinder Select follows Tinder’s parent company, Match Group’s 2022 acquisition of The League, another invite-only dating app that charges users close to $1,000 per week for dating assistance from algorithms and human matchmakers.
