Insomniac Announces The Return Of Its Most Iconic NYE Event, Together As One

Continuing its colossal 30th anniversary celebration, Insomniac has just announced the return of one of its most cherished events: Together As One (TAO).

Steeped in former New Year’s raving glory, Together As One will find its new home at Washington’s Tacoma Dome on December 30 and 31, 2023. Though younger ravers may not be as familiar, the OGs will know exactly why this announcement is so special.

In the late 1990s rival West Coast promoters Insomniac and Go Ventures had their own separate New Year’s Eve festivals, but that all changed on NYE 1998, when the two companies, piloted by Pasquale Rotella and Reza Gerami, literally came “together as one” to build an event that would go down in history as one of the biggest undertakings the U.S. rave scene had ever known.

On the eve of 1999, Together As One would take over the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena with performances from legendary DJs such as Carl Cox, Frankie Bones, DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, DJ SS, and many more, with a New Year’s countdown hosted by none other than MC Fearless.

Just two years later, as the year 2000 became 2001, Together As One made history as the first time an Olympic-sized stadium in the United States—LA’s Memorial Coliseum—would be filled for this kind of event, marking a true turning point in dance music’s stateside shift from the underground to the masses.

Together As One ran for 13 years as one of the United States’ most successful New Year’s Eve dance music events, shaping the celebrations of over 40,000 people each year and drawing top talent like Armand Van Helden, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha & John Digweed, Armin van Buuren, David GuettaDuck Sauce, and many more.

Though the scene has changed immensely since Together As One’s final run in 2011—due to the end of Insomniac and Go Ventures’ partnership—its return serves as a nice reminder of just how far Insomniac (and dance music as a whole) has come.

No lineup or ticket info is available just yet, but you can register for updates here.
