UK rave legends Underworld have just announced a 12-date tour of the UK and Europe coming this spring.
The iconic duo of Karl Hyde and Rick Smith will commence their continental journey at Amsterdam’s famous Gashouder with a string of four sold-out shows from March 13-16, 2024.
Underworld will then head to Berlin’s UFO Velodrome on March 22, ahead of stops in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and a final UK leg at the beginning of April with dates at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall, London’s Alexandra Palace, and Avivia Studios in Manchester.
The tour announcement follows two new Underworld releases this year, including “and the colour red” and “denver luna,” which arrived earlier this month along with an ensuing acapella rework.
First formed in 1987 as a synth-pop band, Underworld became synonymous with the ever-evolving electronic sound of the 1990s after they leaned into dancier, techno-driven sounds on albums like Second Toughest In The Infants and Beaucoup Fish.
Their 1995 hit “Born Slippy (Nuxx)” has been hailed as one of the best tracks of the 1990s by publications like Slant Magazine and Pitchfork, rising to widespread popularity following its feature in the 1996 Academy Award-nominated film Trainspotting.
