Verknipt, the renowned Dutch hard techno promoter, is adding a historic event to their repertoire: Verknipt ArenA. This will be the largest hard techno event ever, welcoming 40,000 attendees to Amsterdam’s Johan Cruijff ArenA on July 20, 2024, for an epic evening of music and dancing.
Other than being a prominent football stadium, this arena is host to some of the biggest events in the Netherlands including Amsterdam Music Festival, and when Taylor Swift makes her way to Amsterdam for her Eras tour next year, she will perform at the arena for three consecutive nights.
Now the massive space will be inhabited with ten hours of nonstop hard techno. There is no lineup information yet available for the party, but past editions of Verknipt events have booked major forces in the genre.
For the most recent edition of their annual Verknipt Festival, Sara Landry, Fatima Hajji, and Trym were just three of the artists who brought their high-flying sound.
“Over the past three years we’ve truly seen a movement come up in the techno scene and we’re extremely excited about Verknipt’s leading role within it,” Verknipt founder and co-owner Mer Hajbarati said in a press release. “With so much competition in this industry, it’s rewarding to see what you’re doing hitting the right spot with a large audience. If you would’ve suggested a hard techno stadium show 3 years ago, you would’ve been laughed out of the room. But look at us now.”
