“Genesis”, the final single off Alison Wonderland’s new side project Whyte Fang’s upcoming debut album, just dropped, showcasing the dark, haunting, and overall stunning sound to expect from the alias.
The title track was co-written by Jay Watson of Tame Impala and Jacob Ray of 88 Rising.
The old-school electro intro and Ray’s rock-like vocals are fully nostalgic, before dropping into an unexpected dreamlike section that feels like falling down a rabbit hole. The trap-like elements are dark and eerie, but relentless in their energy, showcasing Wonderland’s ability to continue producing innovative tracks unlike anyone else in the game.
Whyte Fang is the darker electronic project from Alison Wonderland, first debuted as a secret headliner last year for a Brownies and Lemonade show.
Speaking about the project that first began as an indie brand back in 2011, “I have decided to release this music separately to Alison Wonderland because I want these beats to live in their own primal world.”
The full 12-track album GENESIS drops April 14, the same day as her debut Whyte Fang performance at Coachella, 2023. The LP will be the latest release on her own label, FMU Records.
