Wolfgang Gartner, real name Joseph Youngman, a staple in the dance community for over 20 years, has teamed up with UK born MC Scrufizzer to release “Level Up”. The song is Gartners’s introduction to the record label, Dim Mak. What started out as a stripped track was completed by Scrufizzer’s (real name Amary Lorenzo) impressive rap vocal.
Dual entendres, clever wordplay, and a mix of nostalgic and futuristic sound design drove it home. It’s the type of track that results from a rare symbiotic reaction; always the goal but rarely the outcome, and can’t be willed into existence, but when it happens, it’s magic,” Gartner states.
With Gartner’s signature electro funk sound and classic nods to video game sounds, “Level Up” is sure to become an instant classic, continuing to add to Gartner’s impressive catalog. Scruffizer’s rap vocals complete the track to make it an uplifting, motivating, energetic anthem.
Gartner has collaborated with the likes of deadmau5, Tiësto, Omarion, will.i.am. and more. This debut release on Dim Mak is sure to mark the beginning of epic releases from Gartner on this label.
