ZHU Releases New Documentary, ‘Welcome To Dreamland’

Roughly seven years ago, out of a billowing layer of white smoke, came the music of ZHU. Ghostly, brooding house accompanied by the mysterious ringing voice of an unknown creator seeped into the hearts and minds of people around the world.

Now, to honor those people who have supported him throughout his career, ZHU (real name Steven Zhu) has released a new documentary, Welcome To Dreamland, out now via Amazon Music. Watch it in full below.

Over a span of about 14 minutes, the short film covers every phase of Zhu’s artistic journey. From his early years, to his activities during quarantine, to his recent run of shows at Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Denver. He played six sold-out nights there following over a year off due to COVID.

Returning to the stage meant so much to Zhu, his team, his band, and his many dedicated fans, two of whom share candid details of their connection to his music in the documentary. He may not be the shrouded enigma he once was, but as he’s stepped into the spotlight, he’s created a legacy in the world of electronic music. That legacy continues with this film.
