Grammy-nominated producer and musician ZHU just took to Instagram to tease new details about his upcoming album release, his first full-length LP since DREAMLAND 2021.
A previous teaser video with the caption: “Grace is given to those who have patience,” inspired wide speculation that a new project was in the works, and this most recent post seems to confirm that the album is on the way.
Giving details “about the album,” ZHU’s post hints at his intention to finish the album at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco next week, with some type of live performance or listening party for the public.
The final message regarding the project simply reads, “When the clock hits zero I will play it for everyone,” leaving fans clamoring for more information in the comments.
Creating a mysterious persona is nothing new for the producer behind deep house hits “Faded” and “Working For It.” ZHU’s recent Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 2) was made available only to fans who texted a hotline with a secret code.
Adding to the hype ahead of his latest project, ZHU also announced that “Revelations” – a new song with pop vocalist BabyJake and producer Devault – will be released this Friday, May 19.
These announcements imply that ZHU has big plans for the rest of 2023, following his official remix of Genesis Owusu’s “Get Inspired,” which was released in March.
