Zingara Releases Anticipated Debut Album, ‘The Code of Dreamz’

Experimental bass dynamo Zingara has today released her anticipated debut album, The Code of Dreamz.

The 12-track, self-released LP reflects a myriad of the Maryland-born, Florida-based artist’s diverse electronic influences, complete with the deepest of low-end frequencies and intricate rhythms that underscore her uniquely philosophical approach to bass music.

A meditative opening on the album’s lead track “I Am,” is followed by a contrasting blast of bass on “The Power of Everything,” a collaboration with Heyz that combines the guest producer’s dark production style with Zingara’s swirling sonics.

Soon, title track “The Code of Dreamz” brings introspective themes to the forefront with a smooth vocal performance from Ruby Chase, before the track explodes via an upbeat and swaggering bassline.

Later, “Unlock Your Keys” and “In The Face of Your Shadow” plunge the listener even deeper into the bass abyss, and high-energy acoustics return on previously released single, “Up is Down,” with a notably trance-influenced beat.

Ripe with collaborations from Zingara’s bass contemporaries, the back half of The Code of Dreamz begins with the brooding “Time is Illusion” with Austeria, followed by future-bass-forward tracks “Now You See” with Ujuu and “The Stars Are Calling Me” featuring Jessica Chertock.

A brief dip into drum & bass on “Close Your Eyes” further demonstrates Zingara’s diverse production prowess, while drawn-out melodies and mystical motifs take center stage on “Look Inside” featuring Leah Weaver.

Finally, The Code of Dreamz comes to an emphatic finish on “Welcome Home,” a collaboration with Elephant Heart that commands attention with its profoundly psychedelic whirlwind of tribal and hip-hop beats.

To celebrate the watershed release and the conclusion of her sold-out album tour, Zingara will host a special The Code of Dreamz album release party at Denver’s Mission Ballroom tomorrow, June 7. In addition to support performances from Black Carl!, Lumasi and Osyris, the show will feature her biggest production to date. Tickets are now available here.
