5 Artists You Can’t Miss At Departure Festival 2022

One of the most anticipated events of the year is upon us: Departure Festival 2022! Taking over one of Mexico’s most famous tourist destinations, Departure Festival 2022 will feature sprawling, curated house and techno events across beautiful Playa Del Carmen. From January 6-January 11, music lovers from around the globe will descend upon paradise for 5 incredible days of underground music that will make for a trip of a lifetime. As we get ready for this incredible week ahead, we thought we share 5 spectacular artists that you won’t want to miss for Departure Festival’s 2022 inaugural edition.

Sven Väth

Sven is a man that needs little introduction. This German techno icon is the label head for Cocoon Records and is well respected in the techno scene for leading “a techno revolution” in Germany. His sets are incredibly high energy and packed with some of the heaviest-hitting techno you can imagine. With over 30 years of DJing experience, you will soon see why he’s gained the reputation he has.

Adam Beyer

Adam Beyer is the Swedish founder of Drumcode Records and is very well known for his weekly radio series, Drumcode Live. His sets are everything people love about techno and more. He’s played hundreds of festivals around the globe and many smaller events, which truly showcase his craft. Not only is he a stellar DJ, but he’s an incredible producer. You won’t want to miss this set (you’ll thank us later).

Anna b2b Sama Abdulhadi

This b2b set left us speechless when the set time came out. Anna, is a queen on her own but Sama Anbdulhadi doesn’t come around our parts often, so when these two get together you can only expect magic. Sama is a pioneer of the underground Palestinian techno scene and is truly one of the most inspiring women in techno music. Anna is a breath of fresh air and is always bringing something new to her sets. We absolutely love her vibe. We can’t wait to see these two together in action.

Black Coffee

Nkosinathi Innocent Sizwe Maphumulo aka Black Coffee is a South African DJ and producer who brings strong elements of his background and nationality into his sets. His sets are full of soul and perfect for a sunrise or sunset. He invites us to believe and to radiate positivity while taking us on a musical journey.

Jamie Jones b4b Joseph Capriati b4b Luciano b4b Marco Carola

Where do we even begin with this one? These 4 DJs will close out the festival with one of the most extraordinary sets that we’ll all have to see to believe. Jamie Jones is well known for tech house sounds on his label Paradise Records, and Joseph Capriati is all about that Italian techno. Luciano is a Chilean-Swiss DJ whose sets have a strong Latin American feel, and Marco Carola is another Italian DJ and producer. Words can not describe what will happen as the sun sets when all of these legends take the stage for a 6-hour closing set. I think we will all be left speechless.

There you have it! Just some of the DJs that will take over hotels, beaches, after parties, and MORE when Departure Festival makes a splash landing in Playa Del Carmen this week. Tickets are still available and check out the complete lineup below. See you there!
