Legends never die. Announced yesterday, the 2020 Billboard Music Awards will go live from Los Angeles on October 14th from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. The 2020 ceremony, originally scheduled for April 29, will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson.
Avicii’s posthumous album “Tim” was released in 2019 and was an incredible culmination of some of Avicii’s last work. The album featured hit songs like “Heaven” with Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and “SOS” with Aloe Black.
Avicii’s Billboard 2020 nominations include “Top Dance/Electronic Album” for “Tim” and is in company with Illenium, Marshmello, Chainsmokers to name a few. The second nomination is for “Top Dance/Electronic Artist” which he is nominated along with DJ Snake, Illenium, Marshmello and more.
It’s incredible to see Avicii continue to get recognized for his work after his passing. If it were up to us, he would take home these awards. He was an icon that transcended musical boundaries and time.
