Ultra Class-Action Lawsuit Heads To Arbitration

The United States District Court in Southern Florida has ordered both parties in the Ultra Music Festival class-action lawsuit to arbitration. The lawsuit (which was filed back in May) started as a result of Ultra postponing Ultra Music Festival until next year without giving fans the opportunity to refund their tickets. Instead of choosing to receive a full refund, ticket holders had to hold on to their tickets until 2021 without the possibility of receiving any type of refund for an event that was nearly an entire year away. Seems rather unideal for Ultra Music Festival ticket holders, which is why this lawsuit has carried on and is headed for arbitration.

Ticket holders had five primary arguments for their position which all failed to convince the court. Their main argument was that the 2019 ticket agreement should apply to their situation as opposed to the 2020 ticket agreement and that the costs of arbitration were too expensive.  The court overruled these arguments, stating that there is no reason that the 2019 agreement should replace the 2020 agreement.
