Festival Planned to Celebrate Woodstock 50th Anniversary

Woodstock. Did your parents attend this now infamous festival?

Well, you could have a chance to celebrate the historic 50th anniversary of the festival in 2019. One of the co-creators of the original Woodstock wants a new event to honor the festival.

In a recent interview, Michael Lang says he is in talks with potential partners and that possible sites are being looked at. Lang says that an overseas event could also be a possibility. After the 50th anniversary of Woodstock takes place, this new annual event would continue.

Woodstock took place on a dairy farm in New York back in August of 1969. More than 400,000 people attended the rainy weekend full of peace, love and music. Rolling Stone magazine says Woodstock is one of the 50 moments that changed the history of rock and roll. This new festival would inject some new life into the Woodstock brand.

Would you attend the new Woodstock festival in 2019? We will keep you updated on Woodstock’s new plan right here on EDM Maniac. Be sure to check out this video of Woodstock and the crowd rocking out to Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody to Love” below.
