BBC Radio 1’s Diplo & Friends Is Coming To An End

Diplo

Diplo & Friends final episode will air in September

After holding down BBC Radio 1′s Saturday night slot from 11 PM – 1 AM since 2011, BBC Radio 1 will be saying goodbye to its extremely successful broadcast series, Diplo & Friends. For years, Diplo & Friends brought both listeners and artists together via legendary guest mixes that featured the likes of ODESZA, Kygo, Zeds Dead, Knife Party, and more.

For many artists, BBC Radio 1’s Diplo & Friends served as a golden platform to showcase new music and skillsets. The broadcast series also served as an opportunity for many up-and-coming artists to showcase their talents to the world. Jauz in particular, took to Twitter to announce his gratitude for the BBC Radio 1 series, stating that “BBC was one of the very first things I got to do that really started to put me on peoples radars.”

Jeremiah Asiamah’s ‘Soundystem’ will now move into Diplo & Friends’ previous time slot while Radio 1’s Residency will now move to Thursdays from 11 AM – 1 PM.
