Tomorrowland 2021 may only allow people from the European Union or the United Kingdom
This morning, Tomorrowland released an optimistic festival update, stating that the Belgian Government had “given a realistic perspective for large festivals in Belgium towards the end of the summer.” The news from the Belgian Government has allowed the Tomorrowland organization as well as its suppliers and staff to remain hopeful of an in-person Tomorrowland event. Tomorrowland will spend the next few days studying the various guidelines and parameters from the National Government so that the festival can properly communicate and determine various scenarios and implications. Although Tomorrowland 2021 is looking like it will take place this summer, it’s possible only a limited number of visitors from the EU and the UK may be allowed entry, however, we’re waiting to see what will happen in the next few weeks.
It is being reported by RTL Today that the only entry to Tomorrowland’s 2021 event would be through tickets purchased in advance. This would enable proper tracking procedures and would limit festival access to attendees from the EU and the UK. Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo is currently determining whether or not the country will grant access to the festival via the European Union’s Digital Green Certificate program which would require attendees to show a QR code or proof of a negative test. We are delighted and grateful to hear that the Belgian Government has given a realistic perspective for large festivals in Belgium towards the end of the summer. This perspective is not only hopeful for Tomorrowland as an organization, but also for the more than 1500 suppliers and their staff.
We want to study the guidelines and parameters from the National Government in the next days so that we can properly communicate the different scenarios and implications.
With a combination of vaccination and rapid testing at the door, we believe we can make Tomorrowland a safe place, which so many people have been looking forward to for so long. We will take every measure and guideline very seriously and apply all the right protocols.
