Brasil’s own dance floor idol, Alok just dropped a third massive compilation, CONTROVERSIA Vol. 003. Sharing a name with his imprint, this 19-track release features a huge variety of house and techno, reminiscent of the diverse sounds of Brasil.
The compilation includes new music from Alok himself through the opening track, “Alone,” a darkly-tinged mix of house music and trance made alongside the seasoned masked producer, ALOTT, and the newcomer Apophis.
Further down the compilation, there are underpinnings of jazz via the funky cut “Tell Me,” as well as melodic elements from tracks like “Diesel” and “Like Home.” If anything, the sonic charcuterie on CONTROVERSIA Vol. 003 is an indication of the level of talent coming out of Brasil, and with venues like Warung Beach Club it is a worthy stop on any ravers bucket list.
