According to a study by MRC Data, one of the leading data and analytics providers to the music business and consumers,“55% of music listeners said one of the most important things that the music industry can provide this year is offering ‘uplifting’ and ‘happy’ music.”
This data is not surprising considering the tumultuous period the world is going through, and in response, Pandora has launched a new series of stations called Pandora’s Happy Place. The purpose of these stations is for listeners to find a moment of respite through their chosen genres of music.
There are eight stations included in the suite as listed below:
Handpicked 100: Happy Shuffle—The top 100 happiest songs of all time, selected by Pandora’s curators
Feel Good R&B—R&B
Get Happy— Pop/Hot AC
Happy Country – Country
Happy Dance—Dance
Hope For Hard Times—Christian/Gospel
Rap Jubilee—Hip Hop
Vinyl Happiness – Classic Rock
The songs featured in each station have been selected by Pandora’s curators, specifically to put smiles on faces. Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” Beyonce’s “Love On Top,” Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” and Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” are a few of the songs listeners can hear when they tune in.
