Above & Beyond Will Share Their First Ever Motion Picture Score Next Week

Next week, Above & Beyond will enter yet another creative territory via their first-ever full-length motion picture score. The trio worked together with fellow music producer Darren Tate to create the musical accompaniment to a film entitled The Last Glaciers.

According to an Instagram post announcing the score, the plot of the film is as follows:

“‘IMAX presents The Last Glaciers’ is a global adventure following filmmaker Craig Leeson and United Nations Mountain Hero & Entrepreneur, Malcolm Wood as they push the limits of extreme sports using para-alpinism to explore the causes and effects of climate change from Antarctica to the Himalayas, the Alps, and the Andes,” reads a portion of the caption. Check out the full post below.

Above & Beyond hasn’t shared any teasers of the soundtrack’s sonic quality, but with their affinity for world-building sounds within their music, they were a natural choice to score a film about epic mountain landscapes.

The film score will drop as a soundtrack album on March 22 alongside the release of the film in select IMAX theaters around the country. Click here to pre-save the album and click here to learn more about the film.
