Bleu Clair Channels Disco And Funk On New Single, “Mistake”

In looking at the Soundcloud page for rising Indonesian producer Bleu Clair, many of his tracks are tagged with the following: “#NEWAGEOFHOUSEMUSIC.”

As one of the next big things in house music, Bleu Clair champions a sound that honors the funk and disco roots of the genre while simultaneously breaking new ground with advancements in sound design production.

It is within this middle ground Bleu Clair’s new single, “Mistake” lies. The track begins with a floaty vocal sample simmering in a fierce instrumental mixture of strings and keys before launching into a forward-facing drop, complete with a pocket-bop bass line.

“Mistake” is out now on Insomniac Records. Stream the track in full below:
