Les Plages Électroniques, a gorgeous festival on the beach at the foot of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, just released the first artists for their 2023 line-up of French favorites and huge international names.
Superstar global headliners include DJ Snake and Armin Van Buuren as well as Italian-born and Berlin-based duo Mind Against and Berghain and Awakenings alumnus Sam Paganini.
Also tapped to perform on the beaches in Cannes are house and techno boundary-breaker The Blessed Madonna, disco house DJ Bellaire, and Pedro Winter who will be ringing in the 20th anniversary of the legendary Ed Banger label.
For nearly 15 years, Les Plages Électroniques de Cannes has been at the forefront of both electronic music and environmental action pushing its decarbonization actions and its goal to become a “carbon neutral” festival.
The artist charter prohibits plastic bottles, encourages sustainable transportation, and limits waste. Furthermore, Les Plages Électroniques highlights 70% French artists to promote local talent and reduce the environmental impact that is required for artists to travel overseas.
The festival also has many safety protocols to protect against sexual violence and harassment. The SAFER application can easily signal a problem or concern and allow the user to get help at the touch of a button. The slogan reads, “More dancers, less scrubbers: only music can touch me. ”
