London’s fabric Forced To Cancel Its Debut EXODUS Festival

London nightclub fabric has canceled the debut edition of its EXODUS Festival, which was set to be the iconic venue’s first foray into large-scale, outdoor festival production and a celebration of its 23rd anniversary.

A statement made by EXODUS organizers earlier this month revealed that production costs and projected ticket sales meant that fabric felt the show’s quality would be impacted considerably.

Furthermore, the statement reads:

“Just like we decided to delay the grand-opening of our EC1 venue back in 1999 because we weren’t happy with what we were on track to deliver, we’d rather wait and get it totally right.”

EXODUS Festival 2023 was planned to take place over the weekend of July 8-9 at a countryside estate known as Kelvedon Hall in Essex, England. All ticket holders were refunded and will receive free entry to fabric on the nights of July 8 and 9, as well as a free drink.

The festival had booked a number of high-profile house and techno acts on its tragically not-to-be lineup including fabric pros Ricardo Villalobos, Seth Troxler, DVS1, and Francesco Del Garda, as well as exciting talents Chloe Caillet, Ross From Friends, Sugar Free, and more.

Organizers said that the planning of the event, while unsuccessful, brought “important lessons” and that they “remain incredibly excited about the project.”

In the meantime before the project can be revisited, organizers added that they are looking at other options “to bring the fabric community together in new ways and settings,” and urged anyone with questions to contact the company directly.
