Amsterdam Music Festival 2016 Recap

Amsterdam Music Festival 2016 delivered multiple events during five unforgettable nights, across three insane venues during Amsterdam Dance Event. The result was a great success to this unique festival in the dance music capital of Amsterdam.

AMF official opening: Top 100DJS.

The marathon started on Wednesday with the AMF official opening featuring the Top 100DJs event. The event this year took a place in the Heineken Music Hall, after being a part of AMF itself in the ArenA in the past years.

Casting votes from over 1 million fans from all over the world, Martin Garrix took the Number 1 spot in the DJ Mag Top100 poll this year. The night was a true celebration and amazing opening to the festival. The crowd enjoyed amazing sets from the newly crowned No1 DJ Martin Garrix, KSHMR, Angerfist and Swanky Tunes.

AMF: Hardwell Presents Revealed

On Thursday, the Dutch superstar Hardwell presented his label’s night “Revealed.” The sold-out event that took place on Heineken Music Hall featured a five star lineup: Hardwell, Knife Party, Atmozfears, DANNIC, Kill the Buzz, Kris Kross Amsterdam, and Thomas Newson.

The energy was unbelievable in the hall, and the crowd was going crazy the whole night. However, they went mental when Afrojack and Quintino made guest appearances.

Hardwell himself delivered a mad set starting it with his amazing house tunes, but ending hard with some hardstyle songs. That was no surprise to the fans as Hardwell been experimenting with hardstyle in his sets a lot lately.

AMF: TIËSTO Presents Clublife 500

Friday was so special this year as the one and only Tiësto was celebrating his 500 episode of his radio show Clublife. The Dutch legend preformed a special 6 hours set in front of more than 15,000 people in the Ziggo Dome.

Fans from all over the world traveled just to celebrate this milestone in Tiësto’s career. It was an emotional night to many of his fans. The crowd was a beautiful mixture of young kids, and veteran ravers.

Mike Williams opened the night, and warmed the crowd for the legend himself. At 11:00 PM local time, Tiësto took the stage to deliver an unbelievable 6 hours set filled with a lot of classics mixed with his modern sound. The night had so many surprises, as The Chainsmokers and Hardwell made special guest appearances.

AMF: Saturday

Saturday was the busiest day as 25 DJs played in three events that took place across the three venues. AMF started the day in the ArenA, the Swedish duo Axwell Λ Ingrosso hosted a historical night in the Heineken Music Hall, while the Dutch radio station Slam! FM hosted the SLAM! Mixmarathon in the Ziggo Dome.

The Amsterdam ArenA hosted the biggest AMF and ADE event, T-Mobile presents AMF ArenA. The event that kicked off in the afternoon featured a phenomenal performances from Alesso, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Hardwell and many others. The crowd that came from many different counties enjoyed 11 hours of the biggest names in the dance music industry.

Later on the night, Axwell Λ Ingrosso hosted a sold-out night in the Heineken Music Hall featured Klahr, New_ID, Salvatore Ganacci, Shapov and Sylvain Armand. The Swedish duo delivered an amazing performance with a special top-level production.

No surprise the duo manger Amy Thomson called it their “greatest show ever.”

On the same night, Slam! FM hosted the SLAM! Mixmarathon in the Ziggo Dome featuring a stunning all-star lineup including Steve Aoki, Deorro, Don Diablo, Headhunterz, NERVO, Sander van Doorn, and many others. The energy was so high in the dome with flying cakes, and flying inflatables above the crowd.

AMF: Sunday

The last day kicked off with the second day of T-Mobile Presents AMF ArenA, and ended with the AMF Official Closing: AMF & Friends in Heineken Music Hall.

The T-Mobile Presents AMF ArenA continued the success on Sunday hosting the biggest names again. Armin van Buuren, Dillon Francis, Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and many others delivered amazing sets during the last day of AMF. The crowd had a lot of energy left and enjoyed the last day of the marathon.

As the ArenA doors were closing, the final show was starting; the AMF Official Closing: AMF & Friends. The event that took place in the Heineken Music Hall, filled with a diverse stared lineup such as Bassjackers, Dannic, Dillon Francis, Ummet Ozcan, Wiwek, and many others. It was a perfect ending to unforgettable nights.

It was an incredible week full of stunning performances, venues, and performers. This year’s AMF festival was one to remember and we can’t wait to return next year!
