Imagine Music Festival Will Not Return In 2024

Imagine Music Festival will not return in 2024.

Organizers shared the news in a statement on Instagram today that reads as follows:

“Imagine Festival will be pausing in 2024 to improve on your experience. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we take this time to build an even better Imagine Festival.”

Most recently held at Kingston Downs in Rome, Georgia, the festival had not yet announced a lineup or ticket sales for 2024. Imagine has tentatively confirmed a return in 2025.

The hallmark event from Atlanta promoter IRIS Presents has experienced several changes, cancellations, and relocations throughout its ten-year history.

Imagine debuted in 2014 at Atlanta’s Historic Fourth Ward Park, where it returned the following year before moving to the Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2016. Additional space and infrastructure afforded by the new speedway site would allow the festival to introduce camping.

After Tomorrowland’s TomorrowWorld event—also held in the Atlanta metro area—dissolved in 2015, Imagine’s likewise end-of-summer festival would find added success. In 2020, Imagine announced a relocation to TomorrowWorld’s former site in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia. That year’s festival would be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another planned edition at the site in 2021 would also be canceled, this time due to severe weather, just days before Imagine was scheduled to open. The festival finally returned in 2022 at its new Kingston Downs home.

News of Imagine Music Festival’s “pause” follows several other recent hiatus announcements from major festivals. Earlier this month, Tampa, Florida’s Sunset Music Festival announced it would not return this year to prepare for a venue change in 2025. Okeechobee also took a hiatus this year and has yet to announce a return date.

“Rising production costs” notably led to a last-minute venue change for Desert Hearts Festival in 2023, and other independent festivals like Dirtybird CampINN have dissolved completely after being unable to find suitable and affordable venues. After a hiatus in 2023, Dirtybird Campout is yet to announce a return for this year.
