It’s going to be a no-go for Desert Trip 2017.
Desert Trip, dubbed the ‘Coachella for old people’ will not return for 2017, according to a Billboard exclusive.
Goldenvoice‘s Paul Tollet told Billboard: “We’re not doing Desert Trip this year…We loved 2016 Desert Trip– that was a special moment in time. Maybe someday in the future we’ll do something similar.”
The festival took place on the infamous Coachella grounds in Indio, California when it made it’s debut last October. The festival was said to gross nearly $160 million over two weekends and featured iconic performances from Neil Young, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and The Who.
Hard to top that.
There’s no official word if Desert Trip will return in 2018 just yet. But rumor has it Led Zepplin might just reunite at Desert Trip for it’s 50th anniversary.
Now THAT would be worth waiting for.
