Ahh, the annual DJ Mag Top 100 DJ list. Over the years, many house and techno listeners have read this list with disappointment, as they felt something was missing. This year, DJ Mag and Beatport heard our prayers and revealed their new Alternative Top 100 Djs featuring Carl Cox at number 1, and followed by Claptone, Richie Hawton, Adam Beyer, and Marco Carola. These names are truly a breath of fresh air, as the scene has shifted more towards these underground sounds as of late.
These well deserving artists finally have rankings of their own based on votes from fans and finally, sales trend data, making this revolutionary house and techno revival all the more real. These artists were unable to compete in the popularity contest that was the DJ Mag Top 100 which ranked them much lower on the list. Now, with their own list, they’ve been given their chance to shine within the alternative DJ scene that’s so near & dear to our hearts. Check out the list below and revel in its underground inclusive beauty.
