Tiga has teamed up with Fcukers and Ben Sterling to drop an official “HOT WIFE” remix EP.
After releasing ‘HOTLIFE’—his first solo album in 10 years—in April, the Montreal dance disruptor has solicited fresh takes on the album’s lead track with Boys Noize, “HOT WIFE,” from a new generation of indie dance heroes: buzzy NYC underground favorites Fcukers and UK house sensation Ben Sterling.
“The song’s libidinal energy was always ripe for the kind of dancefloor optimization only a British man and two American teenagers can provide,” Tiga wrote on Instagram today.
Fcukers’ bassline-driven remix was requested by Tiga as a show of gratitude to the young duo for their contributions to his awaited full-length comeback, according to a press release. After they joined forces for HOTLIFE’s lynchpin single “SILK SCARF,” Tiga took Fcukers under his wing once again, resulting in a “genuinely amazing anomaly that defies genre, description, expectation, convention, easy explanation, easy categorization, and logic.”
Sterling, meanwhile, returns to Tigatown after remixing the electroclash legend’s biggest hit, “Mind Dimension,” to massive acclaim in 2022. “The London producer invites you to flush those salsa dancing lessons down the toilet and spice things up with a killer acid banger featuring an insane breakdown,” reads another portion of the release.
Tiga’s “HOT WIFE” remix EP follows The Dare’s remix of “IAMWHATIAM” as the latest of several installments in the wider HOTLIFE remix project. More reworks of “SILK SCARF,” “IAMWHATIAM,” and “ECSTASY SURROUNDS ME” are slated to drop between now and the end of October.
