Dada Life Headline ‘Get Lucky’ In Utah

For those of you who live in Utah or the surrounding area, you’re in “luck” this St. Patrick’s Day. For the third year in a row, V2 Presents put together a killer lineup headlined by Dada Life for their St. Paddy’s festivities. With added support from BORGEOUS, Henry Fong, and Snails, this is a show you will NOT want to miss.

As last year’s ‘Get Lucky’ was a massive success with Above & Beyond, Tritonal, Manufactured Superstars, and Pegboard Nerds, V2 definitely stepped up to the plate and delivered an extremely diverse lineup that brings a lot of new talent to the table.

Snails, a Montreal-based DJ, is someone who will be making a huge name for himself in 2015. With his recent release of SNAILEDIT! Mix Vol. 2 “Welcome to Slugz City,” he’s received support from some of the biggest names out there, such as Skrillex, Diplo, and Flosstradamus. If you’ve checked out the new Jack U album, you’ve also heard Snails’ recent collaboration “Holla Out,” also featuring Taranchyla. Snails brings the heavy bass to Salt Lake as he sets off on his first ever North American tour.

Next up on the lineup is Henry Fong. A rising American DJ with trademark dreads and electro house beats, Henry Fong is another one to watch. You’ve undoubtedly heard his hits “Encore” with Makj, “Scream” with J-Trick, and “Stand Up.” He recently played at EDC Mexico and aboard Holy Ship, and will be at festivals across the world in the coming months. He’s been touring alongside Dada Life for the past few weeks at most of their Compound shows, so expect him to know exactly how to get the crowd pumped up for pillow fights.

Coming in at #87 this year in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll, BORGEOUS seems to produce hit after hit. With tracks ranging from big room to progressive house, the LA-based DJ is behind monster hit “Tsunami” with DVBBS and singles “Invincible,” “Wildfire,” and his most recent, “They Don’t Know Us.” If you’ve ever been to a BORGEOUS show, you know what to expect: insanely high energy, mid-air jumps from behind the DJ booth, and a set ranging from mashups to bangers.

And finally, headliners Dada Life might be one of the most feel-good, entertaining DJ duos out there. Comprised of Olle Cornéer and Stefan Engblom, Dada Life dubbed their bigger tour shows the “Dada Land Compound” back in 2011 when they hosted their first Compound in Brooklyn on New Year’s Eve, and are now bringing Compounds to cities all over North America this spring.

Where do I start with what to expect from a Dada Life show? The fact that they currently hold the world record for largest pillow fight is a good place to start. Prepare to arrive beautiful and leave ugly (just as their song states), because you may leave with chunks of banana in your bag (what I experienced waking up after their NYE show) and half a bottle of champagne in your hair. You’ll hear their classic house hits “Kick Out the Epic Mother F**ker,” “Feed the Dada,” and “So Young So High” along with newer releases “Born to Rage,” “Freaks Have More Fun,” and “Tonight We’re Kids Again.” Dada Life always brings awesome visuals to their Compounds, so prepare yourself for an all-encompassing show.

So – with the show less than a week away, make sure you start your planning early. Many people have already put together creative St. Paddy’s day costumes, so get creative and find your shamrock accessories at your local craft stores. Make sure you arrive at The Great Saltair early and figure out your transportation, as the venue is over 10 miles outside of the city. V2 has set up a party bus for those looking for roundtrip travel to and from the venue for only $20, which is a great option for those who want to get the party started early. There are also still limited GA and VIP tickets available online, but don’t expect to be able to show up at the door and get in.

And most of all, get ready to Get Lucky!
