Ace Aura is fast becoming one of the most exciting names in bass music, and the 23-year-old producer has just added to that reputation with “UMBRA.” The new single on Monstercat demonstrates his ability to seamlessly combine melody and vocals with sporadic, grueling sound design, making for three minutes of pure cinematic release.
The track begins with the brooding pop voicework of Voicians, making a humble request for guidance through a dark time. But then a laser-fire break comes to dispel the darkness with fast-paced drum hits and expanding melodic instances.
