Two legends in the electronic music scene, Adam Beyer and Green Velvet, have come together for the first time since 2018 for a hard-hitting techno banger, “Simulator.”
Since their most recent hugely successful collaboration featuring Beyer, Velvet, and Layton Giordani, “Space Date,” many techno and tech-house fans have waited with bated breath to see what encapsulating track would, if any, come out of the two veterans and pioneers next.
But “Simulator” has been a long time coming as it first began as a Beyer solo production in 2019. After a few years of tinkering with the project, he realized it sounded similar to Green Velvet’s “Destination Unknown.”
Beyer contacted Velvet and “Simulator” became the raw and unhinged powerhouse it is today, perfected by Velvet’s iconic vocals saying, “constant stimulation inside the simulation”.
Adam Beyer is a legend in techno with his label Drumcode now in its 27th year of consistently pushing the genre. Known for his relentless energy, Beyer has also headlined prominent festivals across the globe including Awakenings, Coachella, and CRSSD.
Green Velvet is a Chicago house originator, making a name for himself in the early 2000s with cheeky tracks like “BARBEE,” “Flash,” and “La La Land.”
