Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance is moving its Netherlands festival from Utrecht to Rotterdam in 2024.
In response to the move, new activities and programs are being added in a full city takeover of Rotterdam including masterclasses, panels, artist Q&As and over 70 artist performances across five stages.
A State of Trance has taken place in Utrecht for over a decade, but upcoming closures of certain areas within the venue are causing the event to find a new home.
The trance mecca will now take place February 23-24 in Rotterdam as a new epicenter for trance and progressive music in the Netherlands.
Label boss Armin van Buuren revealed the news in his A State of Trance Radio show earlier today stating, “Utrecht has been an incredible place for the past years. We’ve all made countless memories there; I myself even went to my first rave in the Jaarbeurs venue back in 1993, and I’ve also hosted my first Armin Only show there.”
He continued, “But unfortunately, they’re tearing down the iconic hall that housed our mainstage every year, so we’ve no choice but to look elsewhere. So I’m proud to say that we’re moving A State of Trance from Utrecht to… Rotterdam! The city offers infinite possibilities to build out and strengthen the legacy of A State of Trance and I’m thrilled for us to build an even more exciting future for A State of Trance in Rotterdam.”
The brand is also launching its very first A State of Trance Hotel which will feature even more festivities as fans come together in their temporary home. This will also allow the purchase of travel packages to make attending from long distances much simpler.
Travel packages for A State of Trance in Rotterdam will go on sale June 26 at 20:00 CEST on their website.
Fans can register for early ticket sales at festival.astateoftrance.com to begin purchasing weekend tickets and external hotel packages on June 28 at 19:00 CEST. General ticket sales begin one hour later at 20:00 CEST.
