A Cal State Fullerton student was attacked while walking back to his car from HARD Summer Music Festival in Los Angeles.
The nursing student named Brandon was suddenly attacked without warning while walking back to his car alone.
He was disoriented and bloody and found walking around Downtown LA where a good samaritan alerted police and he was taken to the hospital by an ambulance.
According to his GoFundMe, Brandon has a limited recollection of the events. All Brandon can recall from the attack was “multiple people punching and kicking him in the face while on the ground” and then fleeing. He said, “All I remember was walking, being on the floor, blood, and then the ambulance.”
Brandon suffered facial and nasal lacerations, concussions, and a chipped tooth which a doctor described as if his head was “cheese grated on the concrete”.
After his arrival, he spent four hours alone waiting for treatment and two hours later his brother was allowed in to visit before he had to have facial surgery. The $3,000 plastic surgery is not covered by insurance, plus other hospital expenses and dentist fees.
The motive behind the attack is unknown, with his family stating, “Our family is just happy that Brandon was able to come home safely and that there were no life-threatening injuries. We know that music festivals are meant to be enjoyed with peace, love, and respect. NOT this hateful violent act that I hope never happens to anyone else.”
Brandon was getting ready for his final year of nursing school and “has the energy to befriend anyone and has good intentions for everyone.”
A GoFundMe for Brandon has been set up to help support hospital expenses and can be found here.
