Avicii Pulls Out Of Remaining Vegas Residency, Citing “Personal Reasons”

In a sad turn of events, it appears the Swedish DJ and music producer, Avicii, will no longer be able to perform the remaining dates of his residency in Vegas.

Citing “personal reasons,” XS Las Vegas and Encore Beach Club posted the news via social media indicating that the 26 year old artist would no longer be appearing. Replacement acts announced so far are Dillon Francis taking his place this Saturday, May 14th at XS Las Vegas and Marshmello getting an awesome opportunity to fill-in for Avicii the next day at Encore Beach Club.

It all comes on the heels of an emotional letter Avicii posted to his fans and followers less than 2 months ago, where he announced that he would be retiring from touring. While the Vegas residency seems to be discontinued, Billboard reports that representatives for Avicii “clarified that other tour dates would not be affected.”

East coast origin, West coast lifestyle… Growing up I was always surrounded by the sounds of dance music in New York and Florida. However, it wasn’t until college that I was introduced to the rave scene and finally experienced the love and positivity this community is all about. I’m into warehouse undergrounds and massives like Ultra Miami, TomorrowWorld, Nocturnal Wonderland, Hard Day of the Dead, and Buku Music & Art Festival… In addition to EDM, my playlists usually have a lot of Hip-Hop, Top 40 and I’m a huge sucker for throwbacks. Hit me up if you’re attending an event in the Hollywood/LA area, as I’m always open to making new friends!
