A full concert film of Avicii’s final show in Sweden is screening at Stockholm’s Avicii Experience this week.
Honoring the legendary late producer during this month’s sixth anniversary of his tragic death by suicide in 2018, the film features never-before-seen footage of Avicii’s final performance at Malmö’s Pildammsparken, recorded on August 5, 2016.
Coming to life on the interactive tribute museum’s 100-square meter, 8K curved LED theater screen, film showings are running every hour this week through Sunday, April 7.
All that’s needed to see the show is a regular admission ticket to the Avicii Experience, which is located inside Stockholm’s digital culture events center, SPACE, and open 10AM to 6PM local time.
With the dance music community still reeling over Tim Berglin’s passing, a number of other Avicii tribute projects have been recently shared or are currently in the works.
In February, an Avicii remix of Zac Brown Band’s “Beautiful Drug” was released from the artist’s back catalog by majority rightsholder Pophouse Entertainment.
In celebration of Avicii’s debut studio album True turning 10 years old in September 2023, Pophouse also shared unseen footage from his 2013 True tour, alongside limited edition vinyl pressings of the album and its remix counterpart. Dedicated fans have also recently started a “from fans, for fans” podcast dedicated to the artist.
Additionally, the mental health-aligned Tim Bergling Foundation held a tribute concert at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena in December, and a full-length Avicii documentary from Academy Award-winning director Lawrence Bender is currently in production.
