The time has come again, headbangers. Pack your bags and gather at the legendary amphitheater The Gorge from Friday, August 19, 2022, to Sunday, August 21, 2022, for Bass Canyon, Excision‘s colossal West-Coast bass event.

Established in 2018, this three-day festival features bases amped to the max, accompanied by scenic views. Rails breaking, mosh pits arising. Bass Canyon is a headbangers dream. Plus, Bass Canyon camping keeps the partying all night long and there’s also the Thursday night pre-party for those looking for an extra day of action.

DJs with a passion give headbangers what they need. Alongside Excision’s three featured sets, notable DJs performing include Sullivan King, Kai Wachi, Subtronics, and many more. Below are five DJs worth checking out at this year’s Bass Canyon.

1. Ray Volpe

Ray Volpe’s song “Laserbeam” was the number one song played at EDC Las Vegas 2022. Subsequently, countless DJs have remixed this hit song ranging from house to bass DJs, including Chris Lake, Excision, and Sullivan King. As a result, fans throughout the world get to experience the “Laserbeam” hype.

Volpe’s upbeat, electrifying beats will take the main stage at Bass Canyon. Hearts will be racing at The Gorge during his set. So get those “Laserbeam” pew-pew fingers ready. Aside from amping up laser visuals, Volpe has worked hard with his album and tour ‘Legend of the Volpetron.’

2. Layz

The dubstep sound is continuously evolving, and the uprising dubstep star Layz is paving the path for females breaking into dubstep production. Layz first made the stage back in 2021 and was an opener on Sullivan King’s ‘Loud and Reckless Tour.‘  Her past headlining bass festivals include the Forbidden Kingdom and Excision’s: The Stadium. Her upcoming tours include Lost Lands and opening for Marauda.

Despite her sweet, outgoing personality, Layz prides herself in her heavy beats. She will be shaking and breaking the rail. Fans will have no choice but to break their necks. Hardcore mosh pitters will be ready to rage during Layz’s intensifying set. But do not discredit the impact Layz has within dubstep. She will continue to rise, breaking more barriers.

3. Dirt Monkey

Colorado native Patrick Megaeath, who produces and performs as Dirt Monkey, is another stand out artist on the 2022 Bass Canyon lineup. Many celebrated bass artists, such as Ganga White Night and Illenium, have collaborated with him and his exuberant beats.

Also, Megaeath established and ran the record label Kairos Audio during a five-year Colorado residency. His insane visuals lure crowds to the light, making extraterrestrial vibrations funky.

4. Lizzy Jane

Amongst the other female powerhouses within dubstep, Lizzy Jane, real name Elizabeth Scott, ranks among them. She continues to defeat the barriers of being a female bass DJ. Scott has been a part of numerous projects Excision has hosted. Her most notable Excision collaborations include Subsidia Vol. 1 with her song ‘Dance‘ and taking the stage at Lost Lands.

Scott builds a sense of security, allowing emotions to be felt, transitioning one from the other. Mesmerizing the crowd, having music flow through. Fans will not be disappointed at the spine-chilling builds with seductive vocals bringing them back in.

5. Stoned LeveL

Hard-core headbangers don’t feel neglected. Stoned Level is the one for you. He is currently under Bassweight Record Label creating intense-paced cadences. He is featured on Excision’s Subsidia Night Vol. 1 with the song “Doom” and he’s produced several solo EPs as well including Rail Wars 2, Never Back Down and Pain.

With music inspired by Svdden Death, rage rises with the tension. Stone LeveL releases untold stories. So get those neck braces and bass faces ready.
