Beatport And Maya Jane Coles Celebrate Women’s History Month With Residency

Beatport has teamed up with female music producer Maya Jane Coles to help celebrate women’s history month.

The newly announced residency between Beatport and London DJ and producer Maya Jane Coles will include the re-streaming of DJ sets by amazingly talented female artists; live Q&A sessions with artists; a Bass livestream as well as a Beatportal feature highlighting the Women of Beatport. Nicole Moudaber, one of the techno communities’ most iconic and respected artists, will be featured as the March Artist of the Month. The event is scheduled to last until the end of the month and will feature all sorts of events that will all focus on women in the dance music industry.

When does the event take place?

Beatport and Maya Jane Cole’s residency begins Monday, March 8 at 9 AM ET. Maya will curate four different sets over the course of her residency with Beatport using her different music alias’s. Her first performance will focus on the industry’s rising stars and her second performance will be performed under her bass-driven Nocturnal Sunshine alter-ego. Her third performance will be under her techno-alias CAYAM and the final stream will cumulate with an emphasis on internationally renowned DJs. Maya’s set on International Women’s Day (Monday, March 8) will be followed by set replays from Honey Dijon, Charlotte de Witte, Nastia, and many more. Beatport and Maya Jane Cole’s residency will be streamed every Monday night during the month of March.

During the week of March 15, Beatport’s editorial site will focus its attention on the Women of Beatport. These interviews will focus on the female employees of Beatport and will look at their ideas on how the DJ community can continue to support and encourage diversity in the workplace and on the dancefloor.
