Cristoph, Pete Tong & Paul Rogers Finally Release Ibiza Classic “Where’s The Music Gone”

Cristoph, Pete Tong and Paul Rogers have teamed up to finally give the latter pair’s classic track “Where’s The Music Gone” an official release.

The progressive rework of Tong and Rogers’ house staple arrives today on Above & Beyond’s famous Anjunadeep, nearly 13 years after the original first surfaced and became an essential track in Tong’s performances at his celebrated Pure Pacha and All Gone Pete Tong residencies in Ibiza.

Though the original track appeared on Tong’s Tracks of the Year compilation for Mixmag in 2011, it never received a full label release.

Six years later, in 2017, Cristoph, the Newcastle-born progressive house stalwart famous for his releases on Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, Sasha’s Last Night On Earth and Eric Prydz’s Pryda Presents, among others, began testing out his own “Private Edit” of the tune, soon becoming a staple in his sets and a coveted ID among global fans.

Now, Tong and Rogers’ White Isle classic is finally getting its commercial flowers via Cristoph’s heralded update. A subdued but blissful track, “Where’s The Music Gone” captures the feeling of an Ibizan sunrise with beautifully swinging drum beats, enveloping synth leads, and the same delightful piano melodies and vocal samples that take center stage on the original.

The track follows Cristoph’s six-track EP FaCet Vol.3, released on his own Consequence of Society imprint last month. Tong’s last release, “Heat Rising” with Jem Cooke and Jules Buckley, landed on Ministry of Sound in November 2023.

Tong is back in Ibiza for another season this summer, with a handful of gigs slated for White Isle hotspots like Blue Marlin, Ushuaïa and Pacha Ibiza ahead of his return to Creamfields in August. He’s also bringing his Ibiza Classics Live show, a collaborative effort with Jules Buckley and The Essential Orchestra, to arena venues across the UK through December.

Cristoph is slated for a gauntlet of summer appearances across Europe and the UK, including landmark stops at PAROOKAVILLE, Eric Prydz’s [CELL] residency at Hï Ibiza, Toronto’s VELD, and club shows in Chicago, New York, Miami, San Francisco and more.
