San Diego’s bi-yearly weekender, CRSSD Festival, once again demonstrated its dominance of the SoCal electronic music market with its Fall 2021 lineup. Returning to Waterfront park for the twelfth iteration, the seaside function is coming out of the pandemic ready to move with heavy-hitters from all corners of their genre niche.
At Ocean View, CRSSD’s main stage reserved for live acts, there will be exciting performances from new era stalwarts like ZHU, legendary acts like Paul Kalkbrenner, and a dose of hip hop from Flying Lotus. Tiga and Hudson Mohawke will also bring their new alternative project Love Minus Zero for their US debut.
Further down the roster come The Palms and City Steps, two stages where eager dance fanatics can find a full history of house and techno. House music originals like Kerri Chandler and Todd Terry. Techno innovators like Carl Craig and Robert Hood. European savants like ANNA and Hot Since 82. The four-on-the-floor runs like a river between these havens, mere steps from one another in the event’s condensed yet fluid layout.
Beyond the impressive level of skill all across the roster, CRSSD has maintained a lineup that displays prominent diversity within dance music. There is no shortage of female or BIPOC talent to enjoy throughout the weekend, reminding attendees of the inherent inclusivity upon which dance culture was founded.
CRSSD Festival Fall 2021 will take place September 25 and 26 at Waterfront Park in San Diego. Check out the full lineup below. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 14 at 11AM PDT with an alumni presale happening Tuesday, July 13 at 11AM PDT. Find all ticket and lineup information at crssdfest.com.
