Those who miss Daft Punk may be excited to hear one of the members of the iconic electronic music duo, Thomas Bangalter, will be releasing his first solo LP since their split. And as an added twist this album will have no electronic production.
The project is the score for the ballet “Mythologies” influenced by Baroque and American Minimalism. The full-length work is out in April and features no electronic kit. Instead, the recorded version of the score was performed by the French orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine.
This is the second score Bangalter has released under his own name after he produced the soundtrack to the 2002 film Irréversible.
The duo’s last full-length album, Random Access Memories, came out in 2013 and contains gigantic hits like “Get Lucky (feat. Pharell Williams & Nile Rogers)” and “Instant Crush (feat. Julian Casablancas).”
But Bangalter has not completely hung up his production skills yet as he recently contributed to Phoenix’s latest album Alpha Zulu released in November of last year.
