deadmau5 Joins Forces With Indie Outfit Foster The People For New Single, “Hyperlandia”

deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, has added another impressive name to his list of collaborators, upbeat rock band Foster The People. Together the progressive house legend and the indie outfit have produced a new single entitled “Hyperlandia,” a seething vocal dance tune.

Throughout his career, Zimmerman’s work with vocalists has gone in multiple directions. Sometimes he adds lyrics to his epic four-on-the-floor symphonies as he did with Kiesza on “Bridged By A Lightwave.” Other times, he provides a serene backing track for vocalists to their best work. A prime example of this is in “Pomegranate,” his cut with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes.

“Hyperlandia” lies in the happy medium between those two poles. Not quite a pure club track, but a song imbued with heavy dance energy. Listen “Hyperlandia” from deadmau5 and Foster The People in full below.
