A thyroid disorder was reported as the cause of i_o’s death
It has been revealed in the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s report that i_o had passed away due to natural causes. According to the report, i_o had passed away due to Hashimoto thyroiditis, which is the most common cause of hypothyroidism in the United States. The disease is an autoimmune disorder that causes chronic inflammation of the thyroid.
Ever since he stormed onto the scene, i_o (Garrett Lockhart) had been a risk-taker and someone who was not afraid to break down walls and push boundaries. He was often not taken seriously in the world of Techno for what he was doing – bringing Techno to the masses in an entirely different way. His innovation, drive, and passion are what set him apart from others within the industry and are part of why he will be remembered and admired within the electronic dance music community for eternity.
As we continue to grieve, we look back on what Garrett was able to accomplish for both the Techno and dance communities.
