After 23 years, Simon Dunmore has stepped down as Defected Records head and the managing director Wez Saunders will take over as CEO. Dunmore will still be a part of the juggernaut house label as an A&R consultant.
Saunders originally joined Defected in 2014 after a career change into the music industry. Saunders said, “Defected has always upheld house music’s standards globally by supporting innovative artists and by consistently servicing our community with quality recorded music, live events, digital marketing strategies and more.”
Defected’s collection includes house tracks from some of the biggest artists in the world. Major acts like Marc Kinchen (MK), Purple Disco Machine, Love Regenerator (Calvin Harris), The Martinez Brothers, Peggy Gou, John Summit, and Jamie Jones all have credits in the catalog.
Defected Records is a UK house label that has hosted high-quality music and events for 20 years. These include live streams, festivals, and works from some of Europe’s and the U.S.’s biggest artists. Below is the live stream Carl Cox did for the We Are Defected charity stream, We Dance As One.
