EDC Las Vegas 2021 occurred last weekend (October 22-24), and as the dust settles around the massive event, official arrest numbers are coming in. According to Las Vegas Metro Police, there were 34 felony arrests, six DUIs, and 43 misdemeanor citations issued throughout the flagship Insomniac festival.
The number of felony arrests is down from the most recent EDC in 2019 where 65 people were taken to jail from the event. Both of the past years welcomed roughly the same amount of people (approximately 450,000) over the three days, so seeing the number of arrest trending down is certainly a positive note.
Another positive takeaway is that zero deaths have been reported in relation to EDC Las Vegas 2021 at the time of publishing. After eighteen months without large-scale events it wouldn’t be surprising if attendees were a bit more reckless, but it is seeming that the trend is moving towards more personal responsibility.
