Eric Prydz is heading back to Ibiza this summer with a brand new version of his acclaimed Holosphere show.
The progressive legend today announced an exclusive season-long residency at the island’s newest superclub, [UNVRS], where he’s set to debut “Holosphere 2.0,” the next evolution in his stunning spherical audiovisual show.
Held every Monday night from June 2 through [UNVRS]’s closing party on September 1, the 14-week run will see Prydz revive one of the most enterprising live music projects ever.
Building on the success of his touring HOLO performance, Prydz debuted his original Holosphere show in 2019. At the time, it was one of the most technologically and visually ambitious shows in the world, with Prydz playing live inside of an eight-metric-tonne sphere that stood over two stories tall—so large that Tomorrowland redesigned its festival grounds to host it.
However revolutionary, the concept was short-lived. After only one gig, the first Holosphere, which took two years to build, was tragically crushed when a stage collapsed.
Now, its return, over five years in the making, will feature a completely redesigned sphere standing even larger than the original, upgraded with a feature film’s worth of original visuals, 3D holographic effects, and as-yet-unseen transparent LEDs lining the interior, exterior and internal volume of the sphere.
[UNVRS], which is set to open its doors on the former site of Privilege Ibiza for the first time this summer, is said to be one of the only permanent venues in the world capable of housing the show’s massive production on a weekly basis, according to a press release, allowing Prydz to experiment week by week with both music and visuals.
Holosphere 2.0 marks Prydz’ third consecutive audiovisual residency in Ibiza, following HOLO, which debuted in 2018 before coming to Hï Ibiza for the 2023 season, and [CELL], which touched down at the top-ranked superclub the following summer. Other [UNVRS] residents announced for 2025 include FISHER, Carl Cox, and elrow.
