Hamdi Announces ‘Simplicity’ EP On Legendary UK Label DEEP MEDi

Hamdi is kicking it old school. Today, the versatile producer has announced that his newest EP will arrive on the venerated DEEP MEDi Musik, one of the UK’s most legendary dubstep labels.

“A huge honour to be releasing on the label!” Hamdi wrote on Instagram. “Been a big goal of mine to have a Deep Medi EP for a while now, so really glad we could make it happen and so happy with the three tracks.”

“Feel like they show a deeper side to my sound that I haven’t really shown too much before,” he continued.

Simplicity is slated for release next Friday, April 19, and will mark the Oxford, UK-based producer’s first original release of 2024.

Hamdi’s announcement of the deep-dub three-tracker comes on the heels of his February “Counting” remix EP, which solicited reworks from Sammy Virji, Taiki Nulight and Simula, in addition to his own vocal dub featuring lyrics from grime rapper P Money.

After a slew of releases on heralded North American bass labels like Deadbeats and Bassrush, including fan-favorite tracks like “Counting,” “Criminal,” and “Skanka (VIP),” Hamdi finds himself in additionally esteemed company on DEEP MEDi.

Founded in 2006 by Mala, the Croydon DJ often credited with inventing dubstep, the label has provided a home for tracks from the genre’s most seminal selectors through the years, including Silkie, Skream, Digital Mystikz (Mala & Coki) and many more.

Hamdi is currently on tour in the United States, where he’ll open his festival season with an anticipated performance at Coachella’s famous Do LaB stage this weekend.

Additional tour dates this spring will see him touch down in Chicago, Minneapolis and Pontiac, Michigan, ahead of festival sets at EDC Las Vegas, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Tomorrowland, and more.
